Attorney Jeffrey D. Bohn wins at trial, obtains 5 year restraining order for client.

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Fresno divorce attorneys at the law Offices of Jeffrey D. Bohn were successful in obtaining a five year retaining order in a contested trial on September 24, 2008 in Fresno County Superior Court.  In the event of domestic violence, your first resource is to contact your local police and request an emergency protective order.  This is an order that must be approved by a judge before it can issue.  You can then seek a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) by filing a formal application with the family court in your county.  If the court finds that there is a sufficient allegation of abuse to warrant a temporary restraining order, the temporary restraining order will issue and a court date will be set for the parties to appear and for the restrained party to object to the issuance of the order.  If the restrained order believes that he or she is being wrongfully accused, he must file an objection with the court.  In cases where no agreement between the parties can be made, the court will set the case for trial.

There is no filing fee for a restraining order and a prevailing party is entitled to attorney fees at the discretion of the court.  If you have any further questions regarding any divorce or family law issues, feel free to contact the law offices of Jeffrey D. Bohn, Fresno divorce attorneys who are experienced with the issues of restraining orders and all other family law proceedings.

On August 11, 2008 judgment was entered in favor of the plaintiffs in the case of Lee v. Lee.  In a case involving issues of disputed ownership of Fresno County Real Estate, Mr. Bohn’s clients were successful in the following causes of action against the defendants:

  • Quiet Title
  • Slander of Title
  • Fraud
  • Cancellation of Instrument
  • Constructive Trust

The case of Lee v. Lee was presided over by the honorable Adolfo Corona.  This dispute involved complex claims to real property including over 20 deeds to properties some of which were determined to be fraudulent.  Mr. Bohn, a Fresno real estate attorney, focuses his practice on all areas involving complex litigation issues.  Having been a realtor and real estate investor since 1994, he understands both the abstract legal issues surrounding real estate practice combined with the actual business practices of real estate professionals on the street.  It is with this expertise that he was able to achieve a successful verdict for his clients.
